Beauty: e.l.f Studio Mascara & Shadow Sheild

So long are the days of using business cards to prevent mascara smudges and fallout from eyeshadows!! Just when I think I shouldn't buy anymore more beauty items here comes this. What a great idea!

It is called the e.l.f Studio Mascara and Shadow Shield and costs $3.00. This little tool is made of silicone and able to bend and fit each to each eye. e.l.f (Eyes Lips Face) has affordable items for people (like me) who are still experimenting with makeup. They have sales and deals nearly every week. I must have this!!!
Check them out here.

Transition

Ugh why am I NOW watching this video? I heard about Zina Saro-Wiwa about a few months ago and her movie but I never followed up on it. Luckily, as I was flipping through a health magazine the other day, I saw an article about Zina and I immediately went online to check out the video.

This 6 minute video is truthful and raw. The video begins with her doing her big chop and in her words saying, "Yeah, this isn't attractive" as she looks at herself in the mirror after she does the big chop. But what is interesting to see is the transition of her thoughts and outlook of going natural in only a span of 7 months. She goes through the obsession with other naturals and their hair to finally accepting her hair and natural beauty. I absolutely love her take on going natural and her positivity that goes with it.

This video is an eye opener to those who are transitioning or to those who have been natural for years. You can check out the video here and the article here.

Beauty: Face Masks

Hey guys! I am going to start a new part of my blog where I have posts dedicated to everything beauty. Although I may not have the time to divulge in makeup and beauty as much as I want I still have a major interest in it. And I think this would be a great place to express my love for everything beauty.
So my first post will be about face masks. As you know I am a product junkie with hair products so it is not any different with beauty products. I own about 5-7 different facial masks and I continue increase my collection.
Face masks are a great way to get rid of dirt and toxins from deep inside the pores that simple washing won't remove. My favorite places to look for face makes are drug stores and speciality stores like Ulta.
Face masks should be used every 2-3 days depending on the type of mask and your skin type (dry or oily). Using face masks will help to maintain a clean and clear face. Masks can do anything from tingle, warm up, help remove excess oil and restore moisture. My go-to mask these past few months, is the Formula 10.0.6 Deep Down Detox Ultra Cleansing Mud Mask.

I absolutely love this mask, it gives your face a deep down clean feeling that leaves you feeling refreshed. I can also see a difference in the smoothness and texture of my skin.

And I already have my eyes set on a mask made by Sephora, check it out here. This looks really good for the winter time!

Which face mask do you use? Comment below and thank you for reading!

Review: Qhemet Biologics Cocoa Tree Detangling Ghee

I was so stoked to hear that I was the winner of CharyJay's first sponsored giveaway from Qhemet Biologics! I received a full size Cocoa Tree Detangling Ghee and I was more than excited to try it out.
I first fell in love with the product when CharyJay did a review on her YT page months back and since then this product has been on my radar.
My hair was really tangled and dry which was perfect to see if the product really works. This product claims to restore moisture and manageability for dry tangled hair. I applied one to two pumps of the product to each section. I allowed the product to saturate into my strands and I worked the product through with my fingers removing tangles and whatever shed hair I had. The product is fairly thick but not too thick since it is able to come through a pump. It also smells amazing, it actually smells like Reese's peanut butter cups, lol YUM.
Verdict: A- I was able to detangle and comb through my hair with ease and had minimal shedding or breakage. I then two strand twisted each section and allowed the product to dry for about 8 hours. When I unraveled the twists my hair was extremely soft and the product gave my hair a good hold. The only down part, is that the product leaves a good amount of oil on the hair. (It may be because my hair already had product on it, so I may have to try it on clean hair) My hands were very oily but my hair seems to love the the extra oils.
Cocoa Tree Detangling Ghee is great for those times when your hair is really dry, tangled and you want to replace moisture and do a protective style. This will definitely be a staple in my products for a long time.
